In the USA, the last Monday of May is celebrated as "Memorial Day". It is a time to remember those who have fought & died for the spirit of Freedom. It was originally referred to as "Decoration Day" & was a time for remembering the soldiers, families, & communities who were lost during America's Civil War. People would decorate the gravesites & tombs of fallen brethren. Today, it is a time to homor & memorialize what it means to persist as a nation & to sacrifice for freedom. In many parts of the USA, Memorial Day also serves as the "unofficial start of summer!"
